FORMER Gillingham midfielder Kevin James has signed for Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old will team up with good friend and former teammate Marlon King at the City Ground after signing on Monday.

With his contract up in the summer, James had left Gillingham by mutual consent and was snapped up on a free by Forest boss Joe Kinnear.

James said: "It's a massive opportunity for me to be joining a club like Nottingham Forest.

"Things happened very quickly for me but once I knew that Forest were interested I just wanted to come here and sign."
