Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has taken former Peterborough midfielder Micah Hyde on trial.

The 34-year-old was released by the League 1 side earlier this month following the Posh’s capture of former Gills captain Andrew Crofts on loan.

Hyde has been training with the club this week and is likely to feature in tomorrow’s (Wednesday) home reserve clash against QPR.

Vastly experienced Hyde will be best known for his time at Watford where he made close to 300 appearances.

He has also played for Cambridge, Burnley and then Peterborough where he was made captain and helped them to promotion from League 2 last season.

Hyde will be unable to sign a contract with another club until January 1 when the transfer window opens.
