FA Cup third round qualifying round-up

FORMER Gillingham youngster Matt Bodkin came off the bench to net the only goal of the game as Welling United progressed to the FA Cup fourth round qualifying against Harrow Borough on Saturday.

Jamie Turner had kept the Wings in the match with a series of fine saves before Bodkin settled the tie in the 87th minute when he was well placed to drill the ball home past Keita Karamanko.

The Harrow keeper was unlucky having earlier saved a penalty from Welling forward Danny Kedwell.

Ramsgate are through to the fourth round qualifying for the first time in half a century after Steffan Ball scored the winner in a 1-0 victory against Walton & Hersham at Southwood.

Folkestone Invicta are also into the hat for next round's draw after two first half goals saw them see off Staines Town at the Buzzlines Stadium.

Adam Flanagan gave the home side the lead from close range after 20 minutes before Paul Jones doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Another solid defensive performance ensured that Neil Cugley's men equalled their best-ever run in the competition.

Margate crashed out of the FA Cup after a 3-0 defeat at home to Ryman League Division 1 side Cray Wanderers, who have never before qualified for the final qualifying round.

Cray, who came into the match off the back of three straight league defeats since their 4-1 win against Camberley in second round qualifying, took an early lead when Ross Lover fired home after eight minutes.

The visitors dominated and went further ahead on the hour when Michael Power drilled an unstoppable shot past Gate keeper Charlie Mitten after Terry Khan had nodded the ball back to him.

The same player completed an impressive victory with a superb lob in the 67th minute.

However, Tonbridge Angels' FA Cup dream is over for another season after they were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Nationwide Conference North side Worcester City.

Meanwhile, Bromley must replay on Tuesday night after a 0-0 draw at home to Mangotsfield Town.
