FA Trophy and Ryman League round-up

FA Trophy second qualifying round

Ramsgate are in the draw for thye next round of the FA Trophy after putting six past Hitchin Town in the second qualifying round on Saturday.

The Rams were two up inside 16 minutes through goals by Ryan Royston and Ben Laslett - but the visitors were level before the break, including one penalty harshly awarded against Steffan Ball.

However, it was all Ramsgate in the second half. Ball netted in the 52nd minute to restore the advantage, before an Andy Hadden goal and two by Jay May put the home side firmly in charge.

Town got an 87th-minute consolation.

Cray Wanderers are also through after goals from Tony Dolby (23) and Mark Willy (81) saw them win 2-1 at Horsham.

The home side's strike came in stoppage time.

Dartford must try again on Tuesday after drawing 3-3 against Oxford City at Princes Park - Cody McDonald bagging a hat-trick for the home side there.

And Dover must also replay after their game against Cambridge City at Crabble was frustratingly abandoned seven minutes into the second half due to heavy rain with the Whites leading 2-0.

But Maidstone are out after losing 2-0 at Swindon Supermarine.

The first goal was a controversial penalty converted by Steve Cook after an apparent push and the second was scored by Chris Taylor on the hour.

The Stones offered little, although James Pinnock did see a first half effort pushed onto the post.

Ryman League Premier Division

Tonbridge are up to fifth after a superb 7-1 win at Ashford Town (Middlesex).

Leon Legg notched a treble (and also scored an own goal), Anthony Storey got two second half penalties, while Ade Olorunda and Fraser Logan also found the net.

But it wasn't such a good afternoon for Margate, who went down 3-2 at Billericay Town.

Gate were 2-0 down but battled back to draw level with a Ryan Peters strike just before the break and a danny Stubbs header just after the restart.

The visitors nicked a winner - but Aaron Quain missed a sitter at the death that would have rescued a point.

Ryman League Division 1 South

Folkestone moved up to third after a 2-2 draw at Eastbourne Town.

Jimmy Dryden put the visitors in front on 14 minutes when he converted a Tayler Thomas cross - but Jamie Salvidge's 25-yarder equalised in the 40th minute.

Kieran Byrne, who was making his first start, crossed for Dryden to head Invicta back into the lead a minute before the break.

But the second equaliser came three minutes into the second half through Liam Baitup after good work by Danny Leach.

Liam Quinn got on the scoresheet as Whitstable got a 1-1 draw at Merstham - while Ashford also picked up a point after a 2-2 draw at Fleet Town.

Sittingbourne's clash against Walton Casuals at Bourne Park was abandoned in torrential rain.

Ryman League Division 1 North

Dave Botterill's goal on the half hour mark was enough for Chatham to take a point from their trip to Waltham Forest.

However, Thamesmead came away with nothing from their away day after losing 2-0 at 10-man Leyton.

The visitors had chances to score themselves, but Ricky Cable and Lewis Wood were both guilty of passing up good opportunities.
