ASHFORD Town can put the demands of Ryman League points behind them on Saturday when they welcome old rivals Bromley back to Homelands in the opening salvo of the FA Trophy.

The Kent derby is sure of be a fiery fixture with a Bromley side who are on a roll after winning their FA Cup replay with Mangotsfield 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Bromley feature former Town favourite Barry Gardner, who has been in fine form since joining them this season, but Town boss Tim Thorogood is confident his team can give them a good contest.

"Bromley have got a bit of momentum going for them at the moment," he said. "But we played them in pre-season and were as good as they were."

Dover Athletic entertain Dartford in another Kent derby.

Southern League Dartford now play at the same level as Dover, in Division 1 (East). Darts are in good form at present, beating Ilford 3-1 at home on Tuesday evening and winning 4-1 at Potters Bar last weekend.

Whites manager Clive Walker said: "I know all about Dartford. They’re a dangerous side. They score goals at times and a lot of their players I’ve had with me anyway.

"It won’t be easy. They made a tremendous start to the season, went a bit backwards, but have pulled it back."

Completing the trio of Kent derbies, is Sittingbourne against Chatham Town.

Chats boss Steve Binks has denied his side go into the game as favourites. Chats have impressed with their climb up Southern League Division 1 East, but Binks insists that cup ties are completely different.

He said: "When it comes to cup ties you cannot look at current form because it’s meaningless."

Folkestone Invicta return to cup action when they play at home to Ryman League Division 1 side Whyteleafe.

The winners will be at home to either Tooting & Mitcham United or Wealdstone.

New signing Adolf Amoako should return for Margate's trip to Bashley. John Keister may also be included, but Pat Gradley (knee ligaments) is out for at least another two weeks.

Meanwhile, Tonbridge Angels entertain Cheshunt and Jim Ward's Ramsgate travel to Northwood.
