KENT rivals Dartford and Margate go head-to-head in the FA Trophy second qualifying round on Saturday.
The Darts will be hoping to rekindle the kind performance that saw them see off another county side, Dover Athletic, in the last round, when they visit Hartsdown Park.
Manager Tony Burman said: "We’ll got to Margate and just aim to enjoy ourselves and that’s what I’ve stated to the players in training. It’s a break away from the league and I want them to enjoy it. Anything else is just a bonus.
"Obviously we’re the under-dogs because we play in a lower league. It’s a one-off game, though, and we’ll prepare as best we can and give it our best shot."
Burman sees the game as a great personal challenge, because he faces Margate boss Chris Kinnear, who he regards as the most successful manager in Kent and who was linked with the Dartford job in the summer.
“With Margate’s situation during the summer a lot of chairmen were looking at him. For me personally it will be a challenge to be up against Chris Kinnear. I’m delighted to be able to pit my wits against him."
Tonbridge Angels boss Tony Dolby will not be taking Newport lightly in Saturday's FA Trophy tie, despite his side's 7-0 win over the Isle of Wight side three weeks ago.
Asked whether he felt a repeat was likely, Dolby said: "I'd settle for that but I can't see it happening. We'll be looking to play a very similar way but they know what to expect this time.
"In the last game against them we looked really sharp going forwards. You can't expect to hit those heights every week but if we can get close, we'll have a chance."
Bromley boss George Wakeling is calling on his players to raise their game for the trip to Boreham Wood in the FA Trophy second qualifying round.
The Bromley boss knows a repeat of the performance in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Heybridge will not be enough against the Southern League Division 1 East leaders.
He said: "I’m very confident if we can match the level we reached in the games against Wimbledon."
Wakeling is hoping to receive good news on the injuries to skipper Allan McLeod, leading scorer Nic McDonnell and midfielder Des Boateng, who all have leg problems.
He added: "If we can get two of the three back in we’ll be able to give a good account of ourselves. But if we don’t, the players still need to do better than they did on Saturday or we’ll find ourselves out of the competition."
Sittingbourne face a striker shortage ahead of their home tie against Corby Town on Saturday.
Michael Smissen is cup-tied having played in the previous round for Dover against Dartford. Fellow striker Mark Lovell is recovering from a knee operation while Jon Neal is out with a hamstring strain.
In view of the shortage, manager Steve Lovell may consider changing formation and playing a lone striker and five in midfield against opponents they held to a goalless draw in the league last Saturday.
The Brickies’ boss is also without defender Joe Dowley, who is serving the first of a one-match suspension for five cautions.
Meanwhile, Folkestone Invicta entertain Wealdstone and Ramsgate face a tough home clash against AFC Wimbledon.
All the winners on Saturday will receive £2,000 in prize money from the FA.
