DELROY FACEY described his 10th minute opener at Swansea as one of his best goals ever.
“That was one of my best,” he said. “It’s a great strike and it’s gone in the top corner. It could have gone in row Z but fortunately for me it went in.
“As soon as it left my foot I could see it was going in. The keeper was flat-footed but even if he would have dived for it he wouldn’t got it. You know it’s a great strike when even the opposition fans are clapping you.”
Facey has set up many of Gillingham's goals this season but was glad to be able to take a more selfish approach.
He said: “I got it in my head that as soon as I got an opportunity I would take it.
“I’ve been getting told to shoot more in and around the box and when I got the first opportunity I pulled the trigger.
“It crushes you a bit when we concede and then we could have lost it right at the end, all the hard work would have been down the drain and the hard work wouldn’t have counted for anything."
