Gillingham have bolstered their squad with the arrival of free-agent Craig Fagan.
The striker was last with Bury, having earlier on in his career played top-flight football.
Fagan can play on the wing or upfront and will go straight into Peter Taylor's squad ahead of their trip to Sheffield United.
He is the second signing made by Taylor, following John Mousinho's arrival last week, and the first since the manager agreed to stay with the Gills permanently.
The new signing arrives on a deal until January 4, with a view to extending it until the remainder of the season.
Fagan started out at Birmingham and also had spells at Colchester United and Hull City. It was at Hull where Fagan was first managed by Taylor but he departed for Derby in a £1m move.
The 30-year-old helped Derby win promotion to the Premier League and he played 22 games in the top tier of English football during the 2007/08 season, before moving on loan back to Hull.
He returned to Hull permanently between 2008 and 2011, before later signing for Bradford and finishing last season at Bury, where he scored once in 11 appearances.
He won't be eligible for Monday night's FA Cup replay against Brackley as he wasn't registered before the original fixture.
