GILLS youth team boss Scott Fitzgerald believes Mark Stimson’s arrival as first team manager fits well into his way of thinking.
After seeing his young striker Luke Freeman step up into the first team, Fitzgerald is pleased to see Stimson give youth a chance.
He said: "He (Stimson) wants to play a passing game and that’s something I believe very strongly in.
"The youth side should play a part and they can end up saving the club a few quid if we do our job right and the manager is willing to give people a chance.
"If you can get three or four local lads in the team it becomes the heartbeat of the club and supporters like to see local boys coming through."
