TWO GOALS: Che Stadhart
TWO GOALS: Che Stadhart

Welling United 5 Bedford Town 0

WELLING showed no signs of FA Cup distractions as they posted their biggest home win of the season against Bedford at Park View Road on Saturday.

The Wings never looked back after taking a fifth minute lead when Bedford's Matt Childs headed into his own net under pressure from Che Stadhart after Danny Kedwell's shot was only parried.

It was 2-0 after 15 minutes when Stadhart flicked on Jamie Turner's long ball and Kedwell took advantage of some comical defending to score his 12th goal of the season.

Welling continued to press and Martin Carthy and Matt Bodkin both came clse to increasing their lead.

The third goal finally arrived 10 minutes into the second half when another Turner clearance was flicked on by Kedwell and Stadhart fired high into the roof of the net.

It was 4-0 on 64 minutes when Jamie Day picked out Stadhart and his right-foot shot from 20 yards found the bottom corner.

Substitute Akwasi Edusei was denied his first Wings goal by keeper Ian Brown but Welling did claim a 5th three minutes from time when John Guest's free-kick was headed into his own net by Gavin Hoyte for a second own goal of an eventful afternoon.
