Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish is ready for a fresh tilt at greater success this season.

Just 90 days after winning the FA Trophy, the Fleet start the new Blue Square Premier campaign at home to Mansfield on Saturday and visit Rushden on Tuesday.

There are no promises from Daish, except a realisation that Blue Square Premier clubs continue to spend big.

"The level of expectation increased the minute we switched from part-time to full-time football," he conceded. "Last season we raised the bar considerably in finishing 11th and winning the FA Trophy.

"So I think it’s fair to say that we’ve become a club that’s always looking up the table rather than down. I expect the same again.

"What’s important is that last season’s success instils greater belief in all the players. If that happens then we should be looking at play-off places, though there are no promises."
