Ebbsfleet United's John Akinde looks to have played his last game for the club after MyFootballClub members voted to accept a bid in excess of £140,000 for the striker.
The 30,000 members were given 48 hours to decide on whether to back the offer from an unnamed club for the highly-rated 19-year-old.
Akinde's destination is still unclear but he could end up playing in the Championship, according to one of the clubs chasing his signature.
Reports coming out of Peterborough, one of the clubs linked with the player, suggest Akinde has been talking to Bristol City and Ashton Gate seems his likely destination.
Peterborough had made their interest in the striker clear during the summer with a series of offers before having a £100,000 bid rejected by Fleet manager Liam Daish.
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson told The Evening Telegraph: "I spoke to John and his father on Wednesday night to try and persuade them to sign for us so we will have to wait and see what happens.
"I'd be disappointed to lose out on John as we've been after him for a very long time. He would be a certainty to score goals at our level - but it was inevitable that other clubs would be interested in him."
Despite the speculation, Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has said earlier that he is unlikely to dip into the transfer market before Monday's deadline.
