Bognor v Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish says his side must make the most of their status as FA Trophy holders.

The Fleet begin the defence of their title with a first round clash at Bognor Regis on Saturday.

Ebbsfleet will be hot favourites to ease into the second round against a Bognor team who sit at the bottom of Blue Square South with just two wins all season.

Daish, who guided the Fleet to an historic FA Trophy victory over Torquay at Wembley in May, said: “What we have got to do is try and enjoy that side of it and the challenges it will bring.

“Teams from a lower league will always up their game against a team above them. We can’t do anything about that. We just have to make sure we concentrate on what we’re doing.

“If we do that we’ve got enough in our locker to beat sides in this league and the leagues above.”

Daish could be without Darius Charles (ankle), Paul McCarthy (back) and James Smith (illness).
