Steve Brown is the new Ebbsfleet United manager.
The 41-year-old, who left his role as first-team coach at Dover Athletic last month, is embarking on his first position in football management.
His assistant will be former Charlton and Brighton manager Steve Gritt and both men have signed rolling contracts.
The pair were unveiled at a press conference on Monday morning, where the KEH Sports Ltd takeover of the club was officially confirmed by the Fleet's new executive vice-chairman Peter Varney.
Mr Varney said: "We believe Steve Brown is an outstanding young coach. This obviously is a great opportunity for Steve and I’m very much looking forward to working with him.
"Steve Gritt's enormous experience in the game would be an asset to any young manager just starting out and we think that is the right mix."
Brown said: "It feels great. I’ve been working for 10 years to get an opportunity. I can't wait to get started.
"The aim is to get back up, but it’s a difficult league to get out of. First and foremost, we’ve got to put a squad together. We’ve been left with no players.
"Of course, the aim is promotion, to get back into Conference Premier. That's the short-term goal, and the long-term goal is to get into the Football League."
Brown has already re-signed Fleet skipper Paul Lorraine and his fellow defender Joe Howe. The new manager has also offered a deal to goalkeeper Preston Edwards - who is in Bermuda on England C duty - and one other member of last season's squad.
The club will operate with a part-time playing squad next season, although Brown confirmed: "The plan is to go full-time eventually."
Some of the players Brown worked with at Dover look set to follow him to Stonebridge Road this summer.
He said: "We’ve got lots of players that we’re looking at and in that are the Dover players. We’re in talks with a lot of players from a lot of different clubs but you can expect connections to be made from my time at Dover and the players there."
Gritt, who spent 16 years as a Charlton player, later teamed up with Alan Curbishley when the pair were appointed Addicks joint-managers in 1991. More recently he took charge of Charlton's academy.
He said: "The over-riding thing for me is the chance to get back in the dugout on a Saturday afternoon rather than watching what’s going on, which I have been for the last few years.
"The opportunity to get the tracksuit on again was far too good to resist so I was delighted when Steve called me to ask me to take on the role."
Dr Abdulla Al Humaidi, chief executive of the Kuwaiti European Holding Company, is the new Fleet chairman. Mr Varney will be joined on the board by new directors Stuart Butler-Gallie and David Testa.
