Ebbsfleet v Torquay

Ebbsfleet midfielder Stacy Long has promised the club’s fans there is more to come from him this season.

Long finished last season as the club’s top scorer but has found the net just once this season.

He missed last week's loss at Kidderminster but is hoping to return for the visit of Torquay on Saturday.

“I’ve had a couple of weeks of physio and I’m hoping to be fit for Saturday,” he said.

“Whatever happened last year has gone. I’m disappointed with my lack of goals and want to be playing better, even when I feel I’m playing well.

“It would be great to get a few goals but first and foremost I want the team to do well.”

The Fleet have slipped to 13th in the Blue Square Premier after three straight defeats.

After the loss last Saturday, manager Liam Daish admitted he might need different players to help the club reach the next level.

Long feels the squad have reacted in the right way and sees the Torquay clash as a fresh start.

He explained: “There hasn’t been too much negativity. We have got to work hard in training and put things right on Saturday.

“We have got to forget what has happened so far and start afresh.”

Sacha Opinel (knee) is an injury doubt while Darius Charles is available after serving a one-match ban.

Meanwhile, young Fleet striker Kwesi Appiah has signed non-contract terms with Peterborough. He played for the reserves against Watford on Wednesday but can only feature in second-string fixtures.
