Fog comes to Gate's rescue in cup tie

Margate 0 Cray Wanderers 3 (abandoned after 47 minutes)

THICK fog helped keep holders Margate in the John Ullman Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Chris Kinnear's men, bidding for a place in their fourth final in as many years, looked set to bow out of the competition trailing 3-0 when the tie was halted.

Cray top scorer Leigh Bremner scored twice, and defender Ian Rawlings got the other, but it all proved meaningless as the weather proved the night's only winner.

No re-arranged date has been confirmed for the quarter final tie. Gravesend, Dover and Folkestone Invicta are already through to the last four.
