The Eighth Wonder Development Day 2021 takes place later this month - offering an opportunity for young women to break into the world of football.

In partnership with the Kent FA and Bromley Football Club’s Community Trust, the Eighth Wonder programme is set to welcome the fourth batch of future female football leaders.

The event, which takes place on Friday, October 29, offers a day full of development sessions and workshops. Those wishing to take part can sign up now from the Eighth Wonder programme website although numbers are limited.

Since launching in 2016, Eighth Wonder Programme has aimed to help 14 to 20-year-olds obtain experience within the game, whether they be through coaching, administrative roles, marketing, journalism or other roles.

Founder Charlotte Richardson is looking forward to welcoming women to Bromley’s Hayes Lane, saying: “I can’t wait to welcome the girls to Bromley FC, a perfect backdrop of ambition and vision, to learn what football can offer in so many different capacities.

“I’m grateful to Bromley FC and Bromley FC Community Trust for partnering with us for this event. It’s the first time we’ve hosted a day like this, in this part of the county, and I think we will provide something a little different for them.

“I’m also incredibly thankful to the Kent FA who have supported this ground-breaking approach to engage girls with volunteering and careers in football, to see the impact it’s having is pleasing and I really hope we can get another event full.”

The county FA’s women’s football development office Natalie Curtis said: “Kent FA is committed to supporting its workforce in numerous different ways and I am very fortunate to work alongside Eighth Wonder again to pull an amazing and worthwhile event together.”

Matt Hall, community manager of Bromley Community Trust, added: "We're very excited to welcome Eighth Wonder to Hayes Lane in what should be a very inspiring event for girls who are looking into careers in football.

“We're proud of our pathway for female footballers, and working with Eighth Wonder will allow us to extend this by helping to support those who might wish to pursue a career in football off the field. The work Charlotte and the team have done to this date is inspiring, and we are hoping to be able to support this even further."
