Welling manager Andy Ford has insisted that defender Frankie Chappell is still a major part of his plans.

Chappell rejoined his former club Folkestone on a one-month loan deal last week but the Wings boss is keen to keep him at Park View Road on a long-term basis.

"Frankie has gone to Folkestone for a month to get some games," said Ford. "He needs to be playing but it's been hard to get into our team because Tony Sinclair and Matthew McEntegart have been doing so well.

"I still believe he is a good player and he will be part of my long-term plans."

Welling, who boast the best defensive record in Blue Square South, have leaked just 12 goals in 15 league games this season.
