Highly-rated midfielder Sonny Cobbs could still sign for Welling this summer but time is running out.

That's the verdict of Wings boss Andy Ford, who has been in negotiations with Cobbs since his release from League 1 Brighton last month.

Ford said: "I've been in contact with him and have spoken to Sonny a couple of times.

"He wants to stay in the Football League which is understandable. There's a deal here for him but the ball is in his court.

"I don't want to set any deadlines on it but I might need to get someone else in a few weeks."
