WE ALL came away from Durham pretty pleased with ourselves but that feeling soon evaporated with the news from Kent’s chief executive Paul Millman that Cricket South Africa were demanding Justin Kemp return home to rest ahead of upcoming international commitments.

It was hugely disappointing news and Justin is not at all happy, especially as he’s in the form of his life and really enjoying his time at Kent.

I soon realised that nothing could be done to change the situation so I’m just hoping that, as cricket is a team game, the rest of the lads will work that bit harder in contributing to the team cause and make up for the loss of Kempy.

Of course, we wish him well.
