WELL Leicestershire have done it again, Twenty20 Cup champions for the second time in three years and I guess Kent fans can at least take some consolation in the fact that we went out to the eventual winners.
It all left me wondering whether Twenty20 cricket is good for game and really, I have to concede, that I don't know.
What I do know is that it is an unbelievably exciting product. The final at Trent Bridge had it all. The match went down to the wire with awesome power, delicate finesse, drama and controversy on display.
Come the end there was great elation for the Foxes fans and bitter disappointment for the Outlaws supporters.
Amazingly the final of Stanford Twenty20 in the West Indies had just as much drama. As was the case in Nottingham, the match seesawed back and forth and was finally decided off the second to last ball.
Batsmen the world over are inventing new exciting shot options while bowlers have to keep their cool, stay calm and have good pace variation and excellent control while fielders need to be fit, athletic and acrobatic.
The product provides an enormous adrenaline rush for players and spectators alike and they can't get enough of it so roll on the Twenty20 World Cup.
