KENT'S director of cricket Graham Ford insists the side are doing all they can to make sure the kind of batting nightmare witnessed during the dramatic defeat at Durham does not happen again.
Rob Key's side looked set to take 12 points from a respectable draw at The Riverside until a final afternoon batting collapse, inspired by England Test seamers Steve Harmison and Liam Plunkett, sent Kent crashing to a 157-run humbling.
Ford said: "It was disappointing overall because it certainly wasn't a game we should have lost.
"We've caught Durham at a time when they had all three of their England players available. But we didn't respond well.
"We will be getting stuck in to make sure those sort of expensive batting collapses don't happen again."
