Bournemouth v Gillingham

GILLINGHAM travel to Bournemouth on Saturday hoping the three goals they scored in their last outing will improve their fortunes in front of goal.

Scoring has been one of the Gills' biggest problems this season, but the three against Port Vale were especially pleasing for manager Ronnie Jepson and he believes his strikers have the potential to get over their troubles.

Youngster Akwasi Fobi-Edusei, who has started the last two games but is waiting for his first goal for the club, has come in for praise.

Jepson said: "He's a lovely kid with a top drawer attitude. When someone has his work ethic and desire to close people down they will sooner, rather than later, get a break and goals will come."

Gillingham beat Saturday's opponents 1-0 back in August and Jepson said: "They are a lively side but the lads should have nothing to be scared about."

Matt Jarvis, who was the hero in the win over Port Vale with two superb goals, added: "We have turned a corner. We did not concede, looked strong and scored a few. It’s a great feeling when you come in after a game when you’ve worked hard and got the result."
