Barry Fuller was the clear winner of September’s Gillingham player-of-the-month contest.
The right-back polled 40 per cent of the votes on the Kent Messenger Group’s website, kentonline.
Fuller helped the Gills to two clean sheets in September and, despite being part of the side that lost heavily at Shrewsbury, he still got the supporters’ seal of approval.
Fuller has played in every game so far this season and he was one of the few players manager Mark Stimson praised after Saturday’s defeat at Exeter.
Stimson said: “Fuller put in a performance that is everything you expect from a full-back.”
Finishing second in the poll once again was Simon King, with 22 per cent of the votes.
Fuller will receive his winning bottle of champagne before this Saturday’s home match with Morecambe.
Results: 1 Barry Fuller 40 per cent, 2 Simon King 22, 3 Garry Richards 16, 4 Charlie Daniels 14, 5 Simeon Jackson 5, 6 Simon Royce 3.
