Margate v AFC Hornchurch

Margate manager Barry Ashby is expecting a tough test on Saturday, when AFC Hornchurch visit Hartsdown Park in Ryman League Premier Division.

Following an indifferent start to the season, Gate picked up their first win of the season against Heybridge on Saturday before drawing at Harlow on Tuesday, and Ashby wants more of the same this weekend.

"We know it's going to be tough," Ashby said. "Although we're not sure of the ins and outs of Hornchurch, I can say for certain that our side is gelling together well and that we'll be ready for the game on Saturday."

Ashby has no further injury headaches ahead of the clash, although player/coach Paul Smith is nursing a slight facial problem after coming off worse during a challenge on Tuesday.

"Paul will be fine," Ashby said. "He's just got a bit of a black eye. We took him off because he is still a few weeks away from full fitness."
