Gate up against tactics of ex-Gills keeper

KINNEAR: confident his team can climb clear of trouble
KINNEAR: confident his team can climb clear of trouble

Margate v Redbridge

A FAMILIAR face to Kent soccer fans will be in the visitors' dugout when Margate face Redbridge on Saturday.

Former Gillingham goalkeeper Jim Stannard was recently appointed manager of Redbridge and takes charge of his third game in the Nationwide South relegation "six-pointer" against Gate at Homelands.

Stannard secured the job following the departure of Craig Edwards who left to join Chelmsford City.

Saturday's game is Margate's first for a fortnight, as they look to end a run of nine games without a win. But manager Chris Kinnear is confident his side can climb away from the lower reaches of the table.

Long-term casualty Mark Green is close to a return. The ex-Gillingham youngster broke his leg against Hayes last September, but Kinnear will be reluctant to rush him back.

Aaron Barnett and Romauld Bouadji are both rated as '50-50' for the game.
