Gate's ladies to give skills demo

A SKILLS demonstration and penalty shoot-out by AFC Margate Ladies will feature before kick-off, and during half-time, when Margate play Morecambe in the Nationwide Conference on Sunday.

The main entertainment at Dover's Hoverspeed Stadium, kicks off at 1.30pm.

The ‘ladies’ day’ is being promoted under the Conference’s Supporters of Tomorrow scheme.

Meanwhile, Margate are hoping that the bankruptcy of their chairman, Keith Piper, will not undermine their efforts to secure a future at their disused Hartsdown Park home.

Mr Piper’s eight-year court case was dismissed by the Court of Appeal last week.

A statement from the club said: “The directors have pledged their faith in Keith Piper.

“However, should this situation have an adverse effect on the negotiations, they may seek an alternative representative to finalise the arrangements.”
