Gillingham slumped to their third home defeat on the trot, in all competiions, as they slumped to a 2-0 league defeat against high-flying Norwich this afternoon.
Gills looked the better side for long periods but consistently failed to hit the target when in good positions.
They might have paid for those misses in the opening period but Iwan Roberts' delicate chip bounced off the far post after 39 minutes.
The second half followed a similar pattern with the home team once again creating chances and, although Bob Taylor was in good form after coming off the bench mid-way through the period, they continued to miss the opportunities.
And they were made to pay for the squirmed chances as Roberts netted twice in the final ten minutes of the match to win the game for Norwich.
The experienced Welsh international striker scored with a diving header on 81 minutes and clinched the three points in stoppage time with a clever run and finish.
