GILLINGHAM were totally overpowered by Nottingham Forest, who cruised to a 4-1 victory against Andy Hessenthaler’s men for a second time this season.
The home side desperately missed the guile and determination of their suspended player manager and aerial presence of injured striker Mamady Sidibe.
Gillingham looked slow and laboured all night, while in contrast Forest were quick and lively.
None more so than their on loan star Darren Huckerby who scored two great goals and made the third by dancing through the entire Gills’ midfield and defence to create an opening for Marlon Harewood.
John Thompson sealed a night of misery for Gillingham, who finally gave their fans something to cheer when Rod Wallace finished off an incisive move in the 79th minute.
