Gillingham 4 - Sheffield Wednesday 1

GILLS booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round with a comprehensive victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Gerald Sibon's flicked header gave Wednesday a fourth minute lead but Marlon King levelled the scores when he beat keeper Chris Stringer to the ball and slotted the it home.

King gave Gills the lead when Ashley Westwood was harshly adjudged to have handled when Guy Ipoua tried to flick the ball past him.

Ipoua made it 3-1 when Stringer could only parry King's shot and Ipoua followed up to score.

Stringer denied King his hat-trick when he saved his second penalty after Paul Shaw had been upended.

But Stringer helped Gills get their fourth when he hesitated in coming for a cross and Chris Hope nipped in to score.

Gills host Leeds in the next round.
