HIGHLY-RATED Leyton Orient defender Matt Lockwood is the latest player to be linked with a summer move to Gillingham.
The 25-year-old, regarded as one of the finest full-backs outside the Premiership, is another name believe to be on the list of 20 possible transfer targets drawn up by Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler before he went on holiday on Monday.
Lockwood, who recently signed a two-year contract with the Brisbane Road outfit, is seen as been a vital member of the Orient side. And their manager Paul Brush is sure to want a fee for the player before he is persuaded to part with him.
It has been reported that Lockwood was previously the subject of £150,000 bid from Millwall, which the club rejected.
Wolves' Darren Bazeley, another possible Gillingham target, has been released from Molineux. Bazeley was close to signing for the Gills on transfer deadline day last season but failed a medical.
Alex Williams, the Stirling Albion striker whose named has also been mentioned in connection with Gillingham, has joined Greenock Morton.
