Crewe 2 Gillingham 3
CHRIS DICKSON struck twice to earn Gillingham their first away win of the season at Crewe.
Dickson helped turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 victory, with two second half goals, against a club he was on loan with earlier in the season.
Manager Mark Stimson was delighted to see his team win and the fans going home happy.
"It?s great to get our first away win and for the supporters it must be fantastic," he said.
"The players now have to remember how that felt on the final whistle at full time. You could see after the game when the players celebrated how good it was and to see the supporters with smiles on their faces was a pleasure.
"They?ve had a bad time watching Gillingham away recently but they?ll be able to go into work after that with smiling."
Gillingham took the lead on nine minutes when Mark Bentley headed in after Chris Dickson?s effort had come off the post.
Stuart Thurgood came close to making it two, with a low shot going just wide, but Crewe gradually got on top and grabbed a deserved equaliser two minutes before the break when Nicky Maynard swept the ball home.
Just minutes into the second half Crewe went ahead through Gary Roberts but all was not lost for Gills.
Dickson was pushed over in the area and it was game on again as he buried the spot-kick on 58 minutes and it got better for Gills on 76 minutes when Dickson blasted in his second.
