Gillingham ended the month with defeat at Lincoln but it hasn't all been doom and gloom and now you can vote for your star player for October.
The Gills started the month with a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Exteter and were dumped out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy by Colchester, but the month soon improved.
A 5-0 win over Morecambe got them back on track with a double strike from Simeon Jackson and further efforts by Mark Bentley and Mark McCammon.
The following two games ended 2-2 as Gillingham fought back from two goals down at Bradford but then lost a two goal lead at home to Notts County.
Chester proved tough opponents at Priestfield, but goals from Andy Barcham and Leigh Mills sealed a 2-0 win, before Tuesday’s 2-0 loss at Lincoln.
We've picked a selection of star performers for you to vote from.
Barry Fuller took the September award while midfielder Curtis Weston claimed the August honour. Who will get the accolade as top Gills player for October.
Andy Barcham
The man from Tottenham looks to be getting better by the game and he capped an impressive month with a goal against Chester. Barcham has proved more than capable on the left flank and turned the game in Gills’ favour against Chester after going up front.
Barry Fuller
Any doubters who were questioning Barry Fuller’s leadership qualities have been silenced with a series of solid and committed displays from the new skipper. The young right-back is becoming popular among the Gillingham fans who appreciate his hard work and dedication.
Simeon Jackson
Jacko currently leads the club’s scoring charts with seven and four of them came during October. He helped turn a 2-0 deficit at Bradford into a point for the Gills after scoring both second half goals. That display came just a week after netting a double against Morecambe.
Simon Royce
Royce continues to be one of the club’s star performers and his saves have helped Gillingham to a number of good results in October. He made some vital saves before the Gills swept aside Morecambe and he was also much needed against stubborn Notts County and Chester sides.
Nicky Southall
Gillingham’s most experienced player has brushed aside any doubts about his future with the club with a number of impressive displays. They were rewarded with a goal against Notts County and it was he who set up the vital opener against Chester. He’s proving what an asset he can be in League 2.
Curtis Weston
When Curtis is playing well, the Gills play well. He has quickly taken over as the main man in the heart of the club’s midfield. His vision, quick thinking and range of passing are often the catalysts to Gillingham’s best attacking moves, while he continually frustrates the opposition with his tackling.
