GILLINGHAM Football Club's biggest ever sponsorship deal was officially sealed on Sunday.

Before the game against Sheffield United, Gillingham chairman Paul Scally and Kent Messenger Group editorial director Simon Irwin shook hands in front of what will become the KM Medway Stand.

The three-year arrangement will give Kent's leading football club unparalleled coverage across Kent Messenger titles, which have a weekly readership of one million people.

It will also see the club adopt KM-fm as its official commercial radio station.
