GILLINGHAM have tabled bids for four players in the lead up to Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Manager Mark Stimson, who already has more than 30 players on the club’s books, wants just a few more to help galvanise his side.
Stimson is hoping to add a defender and a midfielder to his squad but with two strikers also on his hit-list it’s clear where he feels the squad lacks quality.
Saturday’s goal shy display at Walsall highlighted where Stimson feels his side are going wrong and he has until Thursday evening to add the talent up front which he clearly needs.
Stimson said: “We’re missing that top man who knows what we’re doing. We’ve got three midfield players who are on a different wavelength to the other players.
“We do keep the ball in good areas but we’re not hurting anyone. We need that end product and the strikers that I’m looking to bring in will hopefully have that in their game and that will help us.
“We’ve got a lot of irons in the fire, because you can see that we need improving, and we’ll go right up until the last minute at 12 o’clock on Thursday to try and do that.
“If we do, then the people will hopefully come in and get the results that we want and the supporters deserve.”
