GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has called on the club's supporters to show patience as the team gear up to play Nottingham Forest.
The Gills will be looking to return to winning ways following their 4-3 defeat against Crewe last Saturday.
Gillingham took a 3-1 lead through goals from Alan Pouton, Michael Flynn and Dean McDonald, before throwing the three points away with Luke Varney firing home Crewe's winner in the final minute stoppage time.
Jepson said: "The supporters want to see good football and want to see you try and score goals. But the other side of it is you’ve got to keep clean sheets.
"It's all right getting all the plaudits for decent creativity and the goals but for me personally I'd rather have had a scrappy game and won 1-0."
He added: "We're working hard behind the scenes to get money which will enable us to strengthen and I just hope the supporters can stick with us."
