Millwall v Gillingham

Mark Stimson has called on his Gillingham players to grab their relegation lifeline on Saturday.

The Gills can climb out of the League 1 relegation zone with victory at Millwall and manager Stimson is keen for them to carry on the momentum following Tuesday’s last-gasp win against Luton.

He said: "The result against Luton has given us a chance. What we’ve got to do now is take that chance.

"Full credit to the boys to put us in this position. We’ve got five massive games coming up now and we’ve got to treat every one like we have done the last four or five.

"If we can go and get the same amount of points (seven) in the next four games as we’ve got in the last four, then that will be a good points tally.

"We’ve got to try and start like we finished on Tuesday. I thought we finished powerfully in the last 20 minutes.

"Our players had so much energy and we’ve got to start that way against Millwall."

John Nutter (hamstring) will face a late fitness test while Kevin Maher (stomach bug) could be back.

Nutter was forced off after an hour against Luton but Stimson believes the 25-year-old has a good chance of recovery.

"Hopefully he’ll be fine for the weekend and we’ll assess that," said the Gills boss.

"John looks after himself the right way and he’ll do everything right to give himself the opportunity to be ready for Millwall on Saturday."
