JEPSON: "All I'm doing is focusing on Gillingham"

HUDDERSFIELD have asked permission to talk to Gillingham chairman Paul Scally, raising the possibility they are weighing up a move for manager Ronnie Jepson.

A Gills spokesman revealed the Terriers’ club secretary had contacted the Gills on Wednesday to ask if Mr Scally would speak to Huddersfield chairman, Ken Davy.

But there has been no follow-up call, and no talks between the two chairmen has taken place.

Huddersfield sacked Peter Jackson on Tuesday, while Jepson played at the club between 1993-1995.

Jepson refused to comment on the speculation and said: "I don’t go on speculation, and I don’t read websites.

"I know through one or two of my friends I’ve been linked with things, but all I’m doing is focusing on Gillingham for the game (against Crewe) on Saturday."
