ROLAND EDGE looks almost certain to be playing his football in Scotland in the new season for Premier Division Hibernian.

The former Gillingham left-back, who rejected the club’s offer of a new contract at the end of last season, is expected to agree terms with manager Bobby Williamson within the next 48 hours.

Since his release, Gillingham-born Edge,24, has been linked with moves to Nottingham Forest, Stoke and Colchester.

And former Gillingham striker Iffy Onuora is considering a return south with Division 2 Brighton after being transfer-listed by Sheffield United.

Onuora, 34, is wanted by Albion boss Steve Coppell to play alongside top scorer Bobby Zamora.

“I’m interested in all offers and if Brighton want me then I'm prepared to listen to what they have to say,” he said.

Albion face competition from Barnsley for Onuora who sat out most of last season with a ruptured Achilles. He made eight appearances for the Blades who are anxious to trim their wage bill to find the money to keep midfield pair Michael Brown and Michael Tonge.

During his time at Priestfield, Onuora made 91 appearances and scored 38 goals, including one in the Division 2 play-off final against Wigan at Wembley. He joined United on a free transfer from Gillingham in July, 2002.
