Gillingham head to the Spanish resort of La Manga today for a four-day training camp.

A 21-man squad will be given a tough, but not overly-demanding workout by the Gills management team, ahead of a busy programme of pre-season fixtures.

Manager Mark Stimson said: “We’re going to be training early in the morning and in the evening because it will be so hot in the day and we’ll be doing a lot of technical stuff; nothing major.”

The squad arrive on Tuesday evening and have their final training session on Friday morning before jetting back to England.

The club’s opening pre-season match is at home to Stevenage next Tuesday night.
