Leicester v Gillingham
GILLINGHAM travel to Leicester on Saturday looking for their first win in the city.
In the two games they have played so far, the Gills lost 4-1 in the League Cup in 1963 and 2-0 in the League in 2002.
But despite the losing record, both manager Stan Ternent and captain Paul Smith are going to the Walkers Stadium in a positive frame of mind.
Ternent said: "There's a first time for everything. It's a good place to go, we're looking forward to it."
Gillingham have only picked up six points on their travels all season, a win at Burnley in August and draws with Coventry, Sheffield United and Sunderland.
In an interesting twist, they have done well away against the traditionally bigger sides, but Leicester have struggled at home with smaller clubs this season, already losing to Brighton and Rotherham.
Ternent added: "I hope we can add to that on Saturday and they lose to Gillingham. That's what we want. The players have been playing and training extremely well so there's no reason why they can’t go there and have a good crack.
"However, we do need to do better away from home. We did fine at Sunderland, I thought the game against Brighton on a tricky surface should not have been played and Portsmouth are a quality side."
Midfielder Smith said: "We play to win games. If you go away looking for a draw that's no good because you have to be positive.
"Leicester are a massive club, but they are having a bit of a bad time at the moment, especially at home. But it's a great stadium. Two years ago the atmosphere was terrific. I don't know if it will be a sell-out again as last time they were at the top of the table.
"It will be a tough game, but if we go with the right attitude there's no reason why we cannot pick up three points."
The Gills captain added: "The first half of the season was a non-event really. We did not win or draw enough games, but our home form has picked up now and so have our performances."
