GILLINGHAM travel to Reading on Saturday with renewed optimism following their comeback against Coventry on Tuesday.

Manager Andy Hessenthaler is keen to add to his depleted squad before their trip to the Madejski Stadium and is working hard to bring in some fresh faces.

He said: “We’re quite happy. We’ve got to keep digging in and working hard and try and bring a few new faces in as well, and hopefully we can turn it around and have a good season.

“It’s nice to get a little bit of confidence back. We can take the confidence now into a tough game at Reading and hopefully now get a result there.

“We’ve got some good players here and they’ve just got to believe in themselves a little bit more. We do need to freshen things up though and need different players in midfield areas.”

One player on his way back is Nyron Nosworthy who is close to recovering from his groin strain and could be in contention for a return at Reading having been missing since the opening home match against Leeds.

Gills will be keen to continue their impressive away form but will have a tough afternoon against a Reading side who have won all four league matches at the Madejski Stadium this season.
