First-team coach Mark Robson could leave Gillingham this week.

Robson, who was recently linked with the managerial post at Colchester, could become a victim of the credit crunch as the Gills looks to slash their expenditure.

Stimson revealed: “Mark was the last one in. Myself, Scott Barrett (assistant manager) and Danny Ellis (fitness coach) have been together for a while now.

“You can only do so much and pay people when you have got the money.

“If you haven’t got the money then unfortunately there have to be changes. If I can’t manoeuvre two or three players out then we’ll have to look at that situation.”
