GILLINGHAM have warned off any potential bidders for midfielder Danny Spiller by slapping a large bounty on their prize asset.
Spiller made a big splash in Division 1 last season and is thought to be coveted by West Ham as they rebuild after their play-off defeat to Crystal Palace.
The East London club are believed to see the hard-working Spiller as a possible replacement for Michael Carrick who is being linked with a move away from Upton Park.
But 23-year-old Spiller, who recently signed a new three-year-deal with the Gills, is seen as a future star at Priestfield.
Gills' coach Wayne Jones: "If anyone does come in and it's good for Danny and for Gillingham, it would have to be a big fee."
Spiller swept the board at Gillingham's end-of-season awards, picking up player-of-the-season accolades from Andy Hessenthaler, his fellow players and the Gills supporters.
