Gillingham v Notts County

Gillingham’s impressive home record will be put to the test on Tuesday night when they welcome Notts County to Priestfield.

The Gills go into the game on the back of four straight home wins in the league and all without conceding a goal – but manager Mark Stimson won’t be taking the game lightly.

“The boys are confident but not over confident,” said Stimson. “If we don’t get anything from the game then Saturday’s point will be wasted.

“Notts County have got a couple of tricky players who we have to be aware of.”

The Magpies sit 11th in League 2 and drew 1-1 at home to Macclesfield on Saturday, in a game where former Gills player Delroy Facey scored his first goal for the club – after 14 games of trying.

Stimson will be without Mark Bentley, as he starts a three match ban, following Saturday’s red card. The Gills boss is hoping he doesn’t have to make too many changes and will be waiting on news of Simeon Jackson’s ankle injury he picked up on Saturday.

“The team now are getting to know each other,” added Stimson. “When teams play together they get to know each other’s habits.”

Bentley’s absence will mean a recall to the side for either Andrew Crofts or Adam Miller. Both players were left out of the 16-man squad for Saturday.
