Kevin Maher has been given another week to decide if he wants to play for Gillingham next season.
Maher misses out on the club’s trip to Spain this week, after failing to come to a decision on whether to remain with the Gills, having being handed an offer by manager Mark Stimson.
Stimson is remaining patient with the midfielder and hopes to have the situation resolved by early next week.
“I hope by next Monday we’ll have an answer on his future,” said the Gills boss.
Maher will continue training with the club in the meantime, along with youngsters Rory Hill and Tayler Thomas who failed to make the 21-man squad for La Manga. Also staying in Kent are Luis Cumbers and Charlie Howard, who are carrying knocks.
