Gillingham skipper Andrew Crofts' impressive recent form has been helped by drawing inspiration from Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Crofts is a big admirer of Gerrard, whose penalty on Tuesday night helped take Liverpool to the Champions League semi-finals.
Crofts said: “Every game I just enjoy. I have more responsibility but that’s good.
“I watch Steven Gerrard play and he gets the game by the scruff of the neck and plays like a leader. That’s what I look to do.”
His improving form has gone co-incided with an improvement in Gills results and he’s heading into Saturday’s game in bullish mood.
“We’ve got four massive games coming up and we’re going into them full of confidence,” he said.
“We’re going into the game full of confidence, on the front foot and looking to get three points.”
