Gills struggle for reserve games

MARK STIMSON has admitted he’s finding it difficult to find anyone to give his reserve players a match.

The Gills boss has a squad of more than 30 to choose from and needs practice games to keep his fringe players ticking over.

But with the previous management’s decision to pull out of the reserve league he’s struggling to get a fixture.

Stimson said: “This time of year not many teams want to commit to games because of weather conditions and there’s a lot of games coming up.

“So as much as I want to try and get competitive games for the boys who aren’t playing, we’re just getting a lot of no’s at the moment because of games they’ve got themselves.”

Stimson will reinstate the team into a league for next season.
