Gills to start against familiar opponents

Gillingham will face fellow relegated sides Bournemouth and Luton in their first two games of the 2008/09 League 2 campaign.

They start with a trip to play Bournemouth on August 9, before entertaining Luton at the Priestfield Stadium a week later.

In September, Mark Stimson's side face a trip to newly-promoted Aldershot (September 20) and end the month with a home game against Port Vale (September 27).

Gillingham will travel to play local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day (December 26) before ending the year at home to Wycombe on December 28.

The Gills start 2009 with a long trip to play Port Vale on January 3 and host Aldershot a week later (January 10).

The return fixture against Dagenham will take place on Easter Monday (April 13).

Bury will be the last visitors to the Priestfield Stadium on April 25, before Gillingham end their campaign with a trip to play Rochdale on May 2.

The Gills have been installed as favourites to win League 2 at odds of 8-1.
