Youngsters Tom Derry and Harry Grant have both signed contracts with the Gills.

Grant played for the Gills in their final game of last season and Derry – a former Charlton academy player – had been training with the club throughout pre-season.

Allen announced last week that one-year deals were to be offered to the pair and both players used twitter to reveal that they had put pen to paper.

Grant, an attacking midfielder, has previously been with Swindon’s youth set-up before joining Sheffield Wednesday last season.

He tweeted: “For those asking I’ve signed for Gillingham this season. Great club and happy to continue living the dream. Roll on this season.”

Derry, a forward, tweeted on Thursday: “Pleased to have officially signed for @TheGillsFC this season. Looking forward to the season ahead.”

Both will be predominantly playing in Gillingham’s development side.
